Having had a quick stop over in Gothenburg a few months ago, I instantly fell in love with this city and the Swedish people. I will definitly come back to see a few more things, for sure, but without the time pressure!
For now though, I have a few tips for you to make the most of Gothenburg in 24 hours.
First of all, where can you stay? I stayed in the Gothia Towers Hotel, which is a super nice place with its own restaurants and bars.
If you dont want to venture into town for dinner, the Ristoria is the Italian Restaurant at the hotel, which is well worth a visit!
If you do feel like going into town, I suggest to get yourself a ticket for the tram and go over to the Haga, which is a very picturesce part of town with wonderful cafes and restaurants. I can especially recommend the Brewers Beer Bar, where you can find tasty and vegetarian pizza!
If you can, make sure you get yourself booked onto a boat! Its so beautiful sailing out to the sea, with all the little islands left right and center. I havent tried this one myself, but it sounds like an awesome guide to do tours with.
They have food on the boats too and it is delicious…
Now, since I am all about food, I have to suggest the Feskekorka, an apparent heaven for sea food lovers.
Gothenburg to me is a city, that wants to be explored by foot. So off you go and make sure you take in the wonderful, scandic architecture and the amazing athmosphere.
Should you have more time, I suggest checking out the official website for information on the wonderful museums they have to offer.
